Sweet Soul Music - May 12, 2008
Two great shows yesterday, The first at the historic Claremont Hotel and Spa nestled in The Berkeley Hills, hosted by Johnny and LaDonna Troutman's JLaChic Productions. What a classy and wonderful event for Mother's Day. What a delight to see some of the grandmother's in their 80's on the dancefloor. And my band was no less than perfect... Tammy Hall, Babatunde Lea and Jeff Chambers.
After a quick nap I headed across the bay to join Tammy, Tunde and bassist Ron Belcher for 2 sets at The San Francisco jazz spot, "Jazz At Pearls". Which has had some reprieve from the earlier news that it was closing. What a wonderful jazz house and a treasure to jazz lovers as well as to The City of San Francisco. Let's make sure Jazz At Pearls remains open.
Headed to Vancouver on Wednesday with Linda and the gang. We have 2 weeks of Children's Shows, which are a blast.
